As part of our Google Analytics Certified Partner (GACP) status, we’ve officially added a Data Studio feather to our digital services cap! You can find our Partner badge here.

To celebrate and share a little of our excitement, we’ve made a DB Freebie for you to enjoy:

While still in beta, there is no longer a limit to the number of Data Studio reports you can create. So knock yourselves out and grab this report by following this link: Click!

This Digital Channel Snapshot is optimised to plug into your Google Analytics channel data (don’t worry, the screenshot above is using dummy data from Google). There is one filter control to set your reporting period, which will update the rest of the page, and key site metrics broken down by GA’s Default Channel Grouping.

To replace the data source with your own, follow the steps below to copy this report into your Google account.

Step 1: Create a copy of the report

Before this report can show you anything useful, you’ll need to create your own copy and tell Data Studio where to find your GA data. Select the copy icon in the top right-hand corner of the report:

Step 2: Select your data source

Replace the data source with your own Google Analytics view (OR if your GA view is not visible in the drop-down, select “Create New Data Source” and follow the prompts to authorise Data Studio to access your Google Analytics data).

Step 3: Hit ‘Create Report’

Almost there! Once you’ve chosen a data source, hit “Create Report” to populate the report with your own data.

Step 4: Customise the report

Feel free to do what you like with the report from here – add your own company logo, choose different fonts, new colours – go nuts.

Step 5: Click the ‘View’ button to toggle between Edit and View modes

To remove the editing toolbars and see your report in action, click the “View” button. (You can return to edit your report by clicking on “Edit”.)

You can also connect to multiple other data sources, such as:

  • DoubleClick
  • Google AdWords
  • Google Attribution 360
  • Google BigQuery
  • Google CloudSQL
  • Google Sheets
  • YouTube Channel
  • MySQL
  • PostgreSQL

We hope you enjoy playing around with Data Studio as much as we do!  If you’re looking for something more bespoke and tailored to your requirements, feel free to drop us a line – we can help make sense of your data and deliver insights that matter.
